After finding some areas of our water system were experiencing brown and discolored water, Scott Lake Board members investigated and believe the cause was some work Northwest Water Systems did to refill the calcium carbonate in our water treatment system. The work stirred up sediment in our pipes and transported it to people’s homes. In discussion with NWS, a Boil Water Notice is not necessary. However, we are recommending people take whatever steps they feel necessary for their own comfort.
We are continuing to work with NWS to do additional investigation and will keep the community posted if there are any water quality issues. In the meantime, please continue to flush your lines and you will not be charged additional water usage.
