Once a year the SLMC Board of Trustees meets to share the past years events, accomplishments and hurdles. We’ll also share our visions for the coming year.
Traditionally, this is also the time where we vote for additional Trustees. We’ve communicated the available seats on April 1st to get a call for candidates. The deadline for candidates was April 21st. This was mainly in part due to preparing a ballot, the bios of the candidate(s) and mailing it out before our mailing deadline of April 28th. This year we had a Trustee resign shortly after the March meeting and this Trustees seat was due to expire this year. In addition. two more seats are due to expire this year. There were three seats total that candidates could have put interest in. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any interested candidates. So we won’t be conducting a vote for candidates on a ballot.
We hope to be voting on the budget for 2022-2023. In order for a vote to take place, a quorum of the membership must be present first, either in person or by proxy. According to our bylaws, Article 5, section 3, 20% of the membership is required to vote on the transaction of business. Each property is entitled to one vote only. If you can’t attend the annual meeting and want your voice to be heard, you can fill out the “Homeowner Proxy” form and submit to the office. We request that all proxies be submitted by 5/11. This will give SLMC the opportunity to validate the proxy.
We will be conducting a Q&A period at the meeting, answering questions submitted via email and then taking questions from the floor. All questions and answers will be made available online after the meeting.
