The Slams Club, which stands for Scott Lake Active Men’s Service Club, was founded in 1979 to conduct meetings and activities that promote good fellowship to its members and provide service to the community of Scott Lake. Sponsor and conduct the annual community Easter breakfast and the Scott Lake Kids Fishing Derby. Provide fund raising for these and other community events.

The Scott Lake Kids Fishing Derby will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 8 AM to 11 AM rain or shine. Free registration at the park kitchen from 7 AM to 9 AM for Scott Lake kids and guests aged 14 and under. Thanks to a donation from Cabela’s, every register child will receive their own fishing pole after the event will supplies last. The lake will be planted with trout before the event. Fishing will be available from the shore and volunteer boats if available. Trophies will be handed out after fishing derby results have been tallied. All kids that participate will receive a prize. It is suggested that each participant have their own bait and tackle. Fish cleaning station will be up and running as well to ensure the kids head home with cleaned fish.
The derby is sponsored by the Scott Lake SLAMS club, and HERS Club. Donations for the event come from SLMC, local businesses, clubs, and individuals. The Thurston County Fire Department will stop by as well.
Hot coffee and baked goods will be available at registration and hotdogs/hamburgers will be available around lunch time. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for raffle baskets during the derby (more details to follow).
Everyone is welcome to watch the kids catch some fish, win prizes, meet your neighbors, and have fun.

🐇🐰🥚 Ready for Easter breakfast? SLAMS and HERS clubs are hosting the first one in 2 years! Pancakes, eggs, links, biscuits and gravy. All you can eat until we run out, so come early to the community center, 8 to 11 AM Sunday April 17, 2022. Adults $7.00, kids 12 & under $5.00, kids 5 & under free.
This is a major fund-raising event for the kid’s fish derby event coming up in May. Also, drawing for really cool baskets.
